Peter Stockel is the Chief for Robotic and Autonomous Systems at DSTL.
With over 35 years in Defence and Security, he leads RAS research and development for air, land, maritime, and joint military applications.
Peter's career spans software systems engineering and various roles within the UK MOD since 1994, earning him multiple commendations.
Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Hicks is the SO1 for Robotic and Autonomous Systems at the UK Ministry of Defence.
He leads research and experimentation in robotics, autonomous systems, and AI for the UK Army. Robbie's career includes deployments to Kosovo, Iraq, Northern Ireland, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, and roles in Capability and Acquisition.
He holds degrees in Physics, Battlespace Technology, and an MBA, and is a Chartered Engineer.
Colonel Shaun Lamb is the Deputy Head of Capability and Force Development at UK Space Command.
He oversees force development, architecture design, and innovation within the Command.
Shaun is also a part-time PhD research student at Southampton University, focusing on augmenting human-machine decision-making using models of human cognition.
Professor John McDermid is the Director of the Centre for Assuring Autonomy at the University of York.
John has been at the forefront of AI safety since the early 2000s, working on projects for Rolls-Royce and NASA. He currently oversees a significant initiative supported by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation, focusing on the safety and assurance of AI and autonomous systems across various domains.
Phillippa Payne is the Project Technical Manager for Mission Effectiveness at BAE Systems.
In this role, she leads initiatives to enhance mission readiness and training effectiveness through innovative technologies and strategic planning. Phillippa's work focuses on integrating advanced simulation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to support complex, multi-domain training exercises.
